St. Louis-based Stratus Building Solutions opens in Canada

Stratus Building Solutions, the St. Louis-based franchisor of branded building service and maintenance operations nationwide, is accelerating its growth by establishing Stratus Building Solutions of Canada to serve all ten provinces in the world’s second-largest nation.

CEO Dennis Jarrett and President Pete Frese of Stratus Building Solutions said, “Stratus Building Solutions of Canada marks our company’s first international expansion and complements our vision to become the worldwide dominant brand in the licensed building services and maintenance industry.”

Based in Toronto, Ontario, Stratus Building Solutions of Canada will operate under an agreement the parent company established with Jeffrey B. Aibel and Kenneth Casseri, who will manage the new Canadian division.

The Canadian division will offer building services and maintenance licenses under the Stratus Building Solutions brand in Alberta, British Columbia, Quebec, Manitoba, Ontario, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Saskatchewan.

Mr. Aibel and Mr. Casseri said, “Our business plan calls for Stratus Building Solutions of Canada to establish 50 new licensing agreements by mid-year 2010. We are pleased to be part of Stratus Building Solutions’ international expansion.”

Stratus Building Solutions is the fastest-growing brand in the building services and maintenance industry. The firm offers 16 plans providing state-of-the-art “environmentally green” cleaning systems, products and marketing support. These include “Stratus GreenClean,” which uses environmentally-friendly products and services to maintain healthier, more productive facilities. Stratus Building Solutions also offers four external building maintenance programs in its mission to become the world’s first “full-service platform franchisor” for the building services and maintenance industry.

Stratus Building Solutions currently has U.S. operations in Connecticut, California, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Hawaii, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New York, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas.

“We are in discussions with interested business groups in Europe, Asia, South America and Mexico to establish new international licensing agreements,” Jarrett and Frese said.

Jarrett and Frese co-founded Stratus Building Solutions in 2004 after each worked for more than a decade as senior executives in building services and maintenance industries.
